Exercise: Yes you have been told to exercise already during your pregnancy, you know its safe and you know its good for you. Why is it important to focus on this right now during a time of increased stress?
Exercise reduces levels of the body's stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also helps reduce the rate of anxiety and depression.
So what can a person do in all this social isolation to help themselves get active?
Take a online class-Right now so many of our local yoga instructors are offering online versions of their in person classes. You can try one of these:
Spinning Babies Yoga Daily Essentials has been a one of my favorites since my last pregnancy.
Take a online class with Merrisa a local prenatal yoga instructor- Luna and Sol Yoga
Walk outside, in your neighborhood, at a local track, or try a trail by searching All trails for easy hikes in the area.
Call you local Gym and see if any of the instructors are hosting online courses.
Get a group together through the Nutritive Pregnancy group and schedule online classes together.
Watch this week as I have a FB live with Merrisa and we discuss stress reduction through Yoga.
